Jokes, humor, laughter, pranks... we love it all at the BAC! And National Tell a Joke Day was certainly no exception!
Why do hummingbirds hum? Because they don’t know the words! 😂🤣😂
You can inject humor into your daily routines by reading silly stories 📚, singing comical songs 🎵, playing dress-up alongside your children 👑, and celebrating special days (like “Crazy Hair Day”) - just because! As parents, teachers, and therapists (and just as human beings!), let’s take time to live in the present moment and connect with our children through a genuine smile, contagious giggle, or heartfelt belly laugh.
Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) also know that jokes are serious business! It’s important for children to understand and use humor in order to navigate social situations and make friends.
Telling jokes helps children build their vocabulary, understand idioms and multiple-meaning words, and practice engaging in the natural back-and-forth (“reciprocal”) rhythms of a conversation.
What’s your go-to joke? 😂🤣😂We love this knock-knock joke - LETTUCE IN!🥗
What made you laugh today? 😊
