🧘🏼♀️What does a BAC Therapeutic Yoga class look like? In these classes, breath and movement are utilized in an interactive combination to promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness with a special focus on social-emotional development.
🌱This specialized program includes classic yoga poses, yoga games, mindfulness activities, music, and stories. With small class sizes, each program is designed and individualized based on the child's area of need.
🧘🏾♂️ One important component is practicing a variety of breathing and relaxation techniques to increase body awareness and decrease stress. Check out these little yogis (left) practicing back-to-back breathing with their “breathing buddies” (stuffed animals).
🌱Classes are taught by our very own Arielle Simons, Occupational Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher, certified Flow & Grow Kids Yoga Teacher, who has additional training in teaching yoga to improve sensory modulation, self-regulation, and motor skills in children with Autism, ADHD, Developmental Disorders, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
🌱One parent shared that after yoga, her daughter was “able to self-regulate when her emotions were getting out of control, and she enjoyed practicing poses at home."
🌱Join us for one (or both!) or our upcoming drop-in yoga classes at BAC Natick on Monday 11/11 and Monday 11/18.
