Feeding Gift Ideas 2024

All month long, BAC clinicians will be bringing you some FUNctional gift ideas! Today, BAC occupational therapy department co-supervisor and feeding program co-developer Stephanie Kerasiotes shares her favorite feeding therapy tools:

🔴 "I highly recommend the Happy Feeding Set by EzPz! The product was thoughtfully designed by a skilled speech pathologist (and friend of mine!) with a deep understanding of children’s developmental needs. It helps make mealtimes enjoyable by incorporating play and a full sensory experience, which is essential for children’s engagement during feeding. The utensils are perfectly sized for little hands, supporting fine motor skill development. Additionally, the textured bumps on the utensils provide sensory cues, enhancing self-feeding skills by offering extra guidance and feedback."

🟡 "I'm a big fan of Melanie Potluck’s Adventures in Veggieland. This book introduces a variety of food ideas in a creative way, helping parents and children discover new recipes.

🔵 "I also love Milton: the Mealtime Companion because he makes mealtimes interactive and engaging. Children can feed or decorate Milton using their hands or utensils while exploring and playing with different food."

🔴 "Cookie cutters come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes! Whether basic shapes, animals, vehicles, or letters, using cookie cutters makes food more visually appealing, which sparks a child's curiosity and increases their excitement to explore the food."
